The starter working principle is that the electrical energy is converted in to mechanical energy. It is designed as pre-engaged since the drive goes in to complete mesh with the flywheel ring gear before the cranking motor develops its full power.

The working principle of an Alternator is, mechanical energy is converted into electrical energy in a vehicle.  The alternator is a resource of electrical energy which will be stored in the battery from time to time.

The Wiper Motor is of a self-switching, two-pole design, having a permanent magnet field system provided by high-energy magnets, together with a gearbox housing a two-stage reduction gear. It is used for wiping the rainwater from the windshields.

The distributor is an electrical device that distributes voltage to the spark plugs of a gasoline engine in the order of the firing sequence.

A regulator fitted on an Alternator regulates the current produced by the Alternator.

To maintain constant contact with the Commutator / Slip Ring, Parallel brush holders 2/4/6….are provided based on the design for distribution of current evenly across all the brushes.

CB Point: When the Ignition switch is closed the current from the battery flows through the primary winding of the Ignition coil to the insulated fixed contact point of the contact-breaker unit. The hinged armed contact is held in contact with the fixed contact by means of a compression spring. The cam is driven at half of the engine speeding the case of the four-stroke cycle engine, producing three sparks per revolution in the case of a six-cylinder engine. When the contact points open the high voltage current produced by the Ignition coil is led to the rotor of the distributor by a high tension cable.

Condensor:

An apparatus used to condense the vapor, usually using cooling or pressurization is known as a capacitor or condenser.

Fixing Bracket is known as Drive end bracket also. This will be supported at drive end of armature and it will be mounted on Engine of the vehicle. (as per the engine design, the bracket mounting design will be made.

The rectifier is a device for converting an alternating current into DC Current which will be unidirectional.

DRIVE / BENDEX relies on the principle of inertia to cause the pinion gear to mesh with the ring gear. When the starting motor is not operating, the pinion gear is out of mesh and entirely away from the ring gear. When the ignition switch is engaged, the total battery voltage is applied to the starting motor, and the armature immediately starts to rotate at high speed.

Distributor caps and rotors are responsible for passing the voltage from the ignition coils to the engine’s cylinders in order to ignite the fuel-air mixture inside and power the engine. The coil connects directly to the rotor, and the rotor spins inside the distributor cap. When the rotor’s tip passes a contact on the cylinder, a high-voltage pulse travels from the coil to the cylinder via the rotor

In an Alternator, a bracket that supports the Stator and rotor with associated other spares in an alternator towards the Slip ring end is known as SRE Bracket.

The rotor consists of 6 poles with one winding coil which will be supported by a shaft with a slip ring. When it runs through the pulley it produces magnetic flux in all poles which will be surrounded by stator winding which helps to produce the current in the stator.

Solenoid Switch receives a large electric current from the car battery and a small electric current from the ignition switch. As the ignition switch is turned, a small electric current is sent to the solenoid switch. The pair of heavy contacts closes, then a large electric current is sent to the starter motor, which in turn sets the engine in motion.

When a high voltage current is produced by the ignition coil the rotor, in turn, passes this high voltage current to the various cylinders of the engine through spark plugs giving sparks at correct timings.

In an Alternator, a bracket that supports the Rotor & stator with a pulley and other associated parts towards the drive end side is known as DE Bracket and is designed as per the requirement of engine mounting.

A mechanical device consisting of the stationary part and a winding of a motor or generator in or around which the rotor revolves and produces current is known as a Stator.

Armature, part of a starter motor assembly that contains the main current-carrying winding. Armature usually consists coil and cores are placed in a magnetic field produced by one or more permanent magnets or electromagnets. Armature is a coil of copper wire wound around an iron or steel core.

Carbon brushes play a vital role in achieving commutation. Carbon brushes are used exclusively for this purpose because they have high contact resistance, which helps in reversing the current in short-circuited coils.

Planetary Gears consisting of three elements. Sun gear, Planet gear, and Ring gear. Sun gear is located at the center that transmits torque to planet gears orbiting around the sun gear. Both systems are located inside the ring gear. In the toothed formation, sun and planet gears are externally meshing and ring gear internally meshes.

A vacuum pump converts the mechanical input energy of a rotating shaft into pneumatic energy by evacuating the air contained within a system.

Engaging Lever is mounted between Solenoid & Drive, once the ignition is given a pulling movement from solenoid will takes place hence the drive will move with the support of engaging lever towards the flywheel and starts the engine.

Brushes are connected to a plastic holder whose function is to collect the current from the rotor slip ring which is produced by Stator.

The field coil is a magnet that produces the magnetomotive force to the electric coil around set up the flux in an electric machine.
